Manly have proved to be a real threat in 2019 sitting in 5th place and this is due to their goal line defence which has been relentless. Statistically they’re the 5th best defensive team only letting in 17 points a game.
The Titans have sucked all season long letting down everyone with countless unforced errors, they score 16 points a game which is the third lowest in the comp and give up close to 24 points a game which is the leagues worst.
Based on form alone, Manly should be able to win this game comfortably. The Titans lead 16-0 last week and lost so if they don’t start well here they could be in for a very long night!
Newcastle Knights host Sydney Roosters
The Knights have found form and have won 4 straight games but those teams are only 8th, 10th, 12th & 14th on the ladder. The Roosters are a far better side than the teams Newcastle has played during their win streak.
The Roosters welcome back two huge ins in Boyd Cordner and Daniel Tupou. This Roosters team, fresh off a loss, should be out for revenge and could put on a big number here against the Knights. The Roosters have won the last 6 h2h and have kept the knights to less than 10 points in 4 of those, winning by an average margin of 21 points.
The Roosters are averaging 26 points a game and only allowing 16 while the knights only average 21 and allow 17 points a game. The Roosters will be hungry for this one wanting to stay near the top of the ladder. While the knights haven’t allowed more than 20 points in over a month, they haven’t faced a side half as good as the Roosters through that period.
