Rublev is playing out of this world, barely dropping sets and winning 2 titles back to back. Unfortunately he’s played a lot of tennis and later on in the tournament he will struggle. O’Connell is a very weak opponent first up and Rublev won’t have any problems with him. Rublev is very fit and looks good to continue winning easily. Dominant everywhere, O’Connell will struggle for games here.
Kevin Anderson was incredible in the ATP Cup pushing Novak to 2 tie breaks and then beating Garin and Paire. His return game actually looks to have improved in his time off with injury, settling back in nicely and looking for a run here. I’ve been backing Ivashka for quite some time in the Challengers and whilst he’s slowly showing up in smaller tournaments and making it through qualifying, he’s not quite progressed enough to challenge the top guys.
