Costly day yesterday with the Titans leading 16-0 and going on to lose, the Eels leading 10-6 late in the game and going on to lose and then the Raiders leading 12-10 very late in the game and unfortunately going on to lose!
The Knights, on the other hand, have won three on the bounce. Mitchell Pearce’s improved form has turned Newcastle into a new team. They finally look like the finals destined team we thought they were going to be. The Knights defence has improved on 2018 and will be the difference in this one. With the Dragons pack expected to get inside the 20-metre line, the Knights goal line defence will need to be top notch. They’ve conceded just 14 points per game in their last three. A repeat would more than likely be enough to get the upset.
Missing the leadership Corey Norman provides in the spine, the Dragons let the game slip last week. They had the Warriors beaten before they collapsed and left Suncorp empty-handed. Facing a side similarly put together and capable of an upset, the Dragons can’t afford to switch off for long periods in this one.
