ANALYSIS:
Christian Mccaffrey is an absolute superstar, however as yet has not been given the praise or attention he deserves. Coming off a monster 200+ yard came (128 yards rushing and 81 receiving) for 2 TDs. This was the 3rd game of his career (aged just 23) with 100+ rushing yards and 10 receptions, the most in the NFL since 1950!
McCaffrey loves playing against the Bucs – last season he put up 106 yards on 10 carries including a 53 yard run and then in the earlier meeting 79 yards on 17 carries including a 35 yarder. He totalled 150 yards combined on each occasion.
Mccaffrey has a 20+ yard run in 6 of his last 11 games and given Cam Newton’s ongoing shoulder injuries, as we saw last week they are making Mccaffrey more of a focal point in their offence. He is now the most complete RB in the NFL, offering a genuine dual threat.
Ladbrokes are offering a big price on the Christian McCaffrey anytime TD market. On the “anytime TD scorer” he is listed at $1.50, which is higher than the other lines available on the market (between 1.36-1.45) but scroll down to the Touchdown Markets Tab for a $1.60 price which represents great value.
Last week the Buccaneers gave up longs of 18, 13 and 12 yards to Mostert, Breida and Coleman respectively, all RBs who are inferior to Mccaffrey. The Bucs will utilise their 3-4 scheme to try and slow down McCaffrey but given how he has also torched them in the receiving game, look for them to favour shutting him down in that aspect.
Mccaffrey puts up big numbers yet again as the Panthers roll to victory.
