Jack Sock has finally put in the hard yards to get back up in the singles ranks since a horrible 2019. He focused on playing doubles and did very well, but since then he hasn’t been the same by himself. He triumphed in 5 sets round 1 against a respectful Cuevas, but Mannarino is a bit tougher. That being said, Mannarino is one of the most inconsistent players on tour. He can win a set 6-0 and then lose a set 6-0 straight after it. Jack Sock leads the h2h 4-1, but he isn’t at the standard he used to be. Flip the coin for this one.
Jan-Lennard Struff is playing some of the best tennis of his career. Cruising past De Minaur, Goffin and Shapovalov only to go down to Djokovic. To get through those three in the same week is a big feat for Struff who’s on his way up, and after making Martinez look like an easy opponent, he looks on track to do that again. Mmoh got a gift of a first round against a struggling Sousa, but Struff won’t be giving him anything. Mmoh has some talent but hasn’t held consistency at this level. Too hard over 5. Struff to advance.
Krajinovic 3-0 @1.75 – 5 units TAB
The Serb made his first round game look easy against the 21 year old Ymer. Covering an 8 game win and 3-0 was just a training run first up. Giron struggled in his first round matchup against young Aussie Marc Polmans. He ran him around for a tough 5 sets which lasted almost 4 hours. Krajinovic has been at the top of his game and is really starting to compete at the back end of tournaments. Krajinovic in straight is paying 1.60 most places. 1.75 is really good for him to clean up here.

Kerber struggled with a thigh injury last year which dropped her rankings a bit. Really liked her round 1 but I think the right decision was to see how she looked, and we were very impressed. Friedsam is outside the top 100 and really struggling to make the main draw. Kerber leads the h2h 2-0 and both matches were won 2-0. Friedsam isn’t quite at the level she needs to be at to test Kerber here.
Johnson spent a lovely 4 hours playing tie breaks with Johnny Isner and now he faces Berankis, someone who’s beaten him in their only h2h meeting back in 2015. Johnson is respectively the favourite here but I think Berankis is the more in form player. He did well at Cincinnati before running into number 1 Djokovic who he pushed to a 7-6 6-4 match, which I don’t think anyone expected him to get that close. He served very well and stayed in the points for a lot longer than expected. We can’t really see how this doesn’t go to 4 sets, not much splits the two. Possibly Berankis for the upset here.
