As outlined prior to week 1, this Chicago Bears defence was touted to be immense once again and so far they have delivered. The Chicago defence has ranked 2nd in opponent yards per play, third in scoring allowed and 3rd down conversions. They’ve only given up 1 TD in each game thus far. Now for the Redskins they’ve lost Guice (RB) to injury for the foreseeable future with is a big issue. Without him they were only able to manage 2.8 yards per carry on 17 attempts at home against the Cowboys last week, whose defence is significantly worse than this Bears side. This will force Keenum into both throwing the ball and likely face many 3rd and longs, which the Bears are superb at defending.
Now on the other side of the ball, Trubisky and Nagy have come under fire for the offensive performances thus far. Now whilst much of this criticism is fair, they have been up against top very good defensive units in the form of the Packers and Broncos, and are both easily within the top 10 and one could argue top 5 in the league. The defensive numbers for Washington are horrendous, they rank 31st in run defence, 30th in both yards and points allowed and dead last in 3rd down conversions. Both the Eagles and the Cowboys have put up 30 points and their defence is concerning on many fronts. The defence should give Trubisky and the offence good field position and we are expecting a better game from Trubisky with strong run support.
